• Dynamic performance: The liquid-cooled 649 cc four-cylinder engine uses a compact internal architecture with cylinders canted forward 30 degrees for a lower centre of gravity and an impressive power-to-weight ratio.
• Balanced powertrain: Tuned for increased torque and effortless performance in low and mid-range power, the versatile 649 cc DOHC features direct cam actuation and 11.6:1 compression to increase peak power delivery at a thrilling 11,000 RPM.
• Even more power: The pistons and valve timing boost power even higher, giving the CB650R its sportier character.
• HSTC torque control: The Honda Selectable Torque Control System (HSTC) controls torque output by detecting differences in the slip ratio between front and rear wheels. When the rear tire loses traction on a slippery surface, HSTC instantly kicks in and suppresses torque by controlling fuel injection to inhibit rear tire slip. This system is user adjustable and can be turned off
• Slipper clutch: Not only does the slipper clutch help to prevent rear-wheel lockup on downshifts, it also reduces the effort it takes to operate the clutch lever.
• Quality engineering: Asymmetric piston skirts, ferrous spines on the cylinder sleeves and a silent SV cam chain using a Vanadium coating on its pins ensure reduced friction, minimal oil consumption, and improved heat transfer.
• Quick response: The PGM-FI fuel injection system operates with information from four separate throttle body sensors for crisp and accurate throttle response.
• Optimal fuel economy: Specific fuel-injection mapping and ignition timing work together to optimize fuel economy and deliver impressive range from the generous 15.4 L fuel tank.
• Streetfighter design: The exposed side-swept downpipes pay homage to the vintage CB400, while also offering a modern streetfighter design twist. The exhaust now sports a larger bore tail pipe angled upwards to increase airflow while producing an emotive sound.
• Rapid acceleration: With reduced weight, improved airflow, the numerous engine improvements (compared to the previous generation), and a quick-shifting six-speed transmission, the CB650R produces thrilling acceleration as you click through the gears.
• Sharp response: Upgrades from the previous generation include a twin-duct air intake that works with the updated exhaust to improve airflow, increase power, and create a robust exhaust note.

• Frame: The CB650R's twin-spar steel frame is engineered to be light, strong and to improve mass centralization, providing the basis for the bikes sporty handling and high level of rider feedback.
• Suspension: Showa 41mm SFF-BP USD forks are a major upgrade over the previous generation; a pressure separation damper in one fork tube and spring mechanism in the other deliver high damping performance and lighter weight. Together with the use of a larger sized piston the result is increased feel, bump absorption and control. Adjustable for 7-stage spring preload, the single-tube monoshock operates directly on the curvaceous gravity die-cast aluminium swingarm.
• Wheels: Y-shaped five-spoke blacked-out wheels combine rigidity with reduced weight for more nimble handling and improved bump absorption (compared to the previous generation).
• Brakes: Featuring huge 310 mm discs, the CB650R also comes with radial mounted four-piston calipers in the front with 240 mm disc at the rear. This paired with the two-channel ABS results in premium sportbike stopping power that's linear and easy to modulate.

• Neo Sport styling: With a fresh look, the CB650R represents the naked shape of things to come. Its bold Neo Sport styling and minimal bodywork come together to deliver an aggressive, clenched-fist appearance, further accented by the crisp LED headlight, clear-lens LED taillight, and LED turn signals.
• Comfortable seating: The carefully shaped seat has a narrow middle profile that provides comfort while riding, and an easier reach to the ground at stops. The seat also includes ample room for a passenger.
• Digital display: The backlit digital display tells you everything you need to know about your ride, with a speedometer, tachometer, odometer, gear indicator, fuel gauge, clock, warning lights, plus all trip details including average speed, fuel consumption rate and elapsed time. For 2021 readability has been improved with a change of LED angle and font size
